The browser workspace processes the screenshots and files you choose locally. It does not access other tabs, request browser extension permissions or upload project contents to a server.

Where projects live

Projects, screenshots and imported feedback are kept in IndexedDB for this website origin and browser profile. A different device, browser, profile or website origin has different storage. The browser workspace and SiteProof extension also have separate storage. There are no accounts, cloud sync, automatic backups, analytics, remote fonts, advertising or AI requests in the workspace code.

The hosting provider receives ordinary requests for the workspace HTML, scripts and styles when you open it. Your browser downloads these files; project contents are not included. This notice does not claim control over hosting-provider access logs, browser software, extensions or files you choose to share.

Back up before clearing data

Export a Project backup JSON file for important projects and keep it safely. Clearing website data, private browsing ending, browser storage eviction or losing the device can remove local projects. Browser storage is not a substitute for a backup. Feedback is excluded from project backups: keep original feedback JSON files separately.

Reports and colleagues

HTML reports and JSON backups contain the project details and selected images. They download to your device; SiteProof does not send them to clients or colleagues. Use your chosen secure sharing channel. A colleague can import the JSON file in this browser workspace or the extension. Copies do not sync or merge.

Client feedback

A client can download feedback JSON from an HTML report and return it to you. Importing records the review and report version. It does not verify identity, create a digital signature or send anything automatically.

Sensitive information

URL query strings, fragments and credentials are removed from saved page URLs. The URL path and screenshots can still contain private information. Review and redact images before exporting. Redaction replaces covered pixels in the saved image; it does not remove the original file from your device.

Delete a project

Choose Delete project to remove its local screenshots and imported feedback. Exported files elsewhere remain on your device or with people you shared them with.
